A Saint is a pious and enlightened soul. He is sent by god himself and is commissioned to lead those souls back who are ripe for going home to their Supreme Father. He reveals the real knowledge of God and is uniquely able to manifest the divine power of God in mankind. So in this way the Saint come from time to time to perform this divine purpose on the physical plane.
